For some reason, hdat2 won't find sata drive which is on it's own controller connected to PCI slot. I've tried re-scanning and swapping different drives on this sata port but to no success? Am I missing something simple here?
if you can run "hdat2 /L" to create HDETECT.TXT and send me this file. If not, run "hdat2 /P" and check if you don't see any error message at PCI detection.
Thanks for the reply. The chipset is SiI3114 - PCI to 4 Port. It's a SYBA SD-SATA-4P. The drive is a WD3200JS. I have a maxtor drive on one of the other ports and neither are recognized. I've e-mailed the log file to hdat2 address.
thanks for the LOG file. You are using the older version 4.5.2, I think there is a little bug Try the newer version 4.5.3 or, even better, beta 4.6b3 (it is full version without testing only).
Thanks. I forgot to mention that I did also try the 4.6x version but I got the same results. I could dig around for the log file if you might find it useful. I even went as far as updating the firmware on the sata controller with the latest I could find on the net. But still no luck. I'm going to try the latest version again and perhaps swap drives on the sata ports to see if that helps.
If you have other suggestions, I'm happy to try them.
