hi everybody got the floppy with the program inside but when i double click HDAT2.EXE I'm in dos and it says (red writing)""" this program can't run in multitask environment!""".....and then press any key........so whats going on ?? can i launch this program on windows ??...My problem is that everytime i start my pc ,windows (xp sp2)keep doing scandisk : ?: on my F(samsung 250 ide 2 ch master) on the 1 ch:master 200gb maxtor partitioned in 2 C 120gb(os here)and H;slave D hitachi160;;2ch :master F samsung 250 ide;; slave:S seagate 320 )Another question i have unhooked a dvd writer on the 2 ch what happen if i want to hook the dvdrw again??mean will i get future problems with the hard disk that i have to unhook to make space to the dvdrw? ?

I am sorry, but this program is running under pure DOS only,
not in DOS command prompt in Windows. You have to boot from this DOS bootable floppy disk and then can you launch this program.

I Windows you can try a demo of HDAT2 program, but this is demo only.

As far as your DVD drive you can got a trouble with letter of drive in Windows only, I think it is better to assign some special letter (like X:) to CD/DVD and/or W: to CD/DVD writer.

Hi thank u for uor help... Why windows xp sp2 keep doing scandisk everytime i start the pc??Do u think this program can resolve this problem ?? So its better use only hdat2 and not the scandisk or not??U say i have to change the letter cause i can get problems when i try to rehook the dvdrw?my dvdrw was E ,will i find the E letter when i rehook the dvdrw?Anyway how can i change the dvdwriter letter ?To start this program i just boot from the floppy and then what commands do i have to write???I've read the manual but no sign of this??

to remove starting scandisk at atrtup is better in Windows XP to start "chkdsk c: /f /r". NTFS and/or FAT has an attribute bit to indicate to start scandisk when disk is not correctly dismounted.

Changing drive letter is possibly in properties of drive.

I have just downloaded AdAware Free Annivasary Edition and when I start a scan it locks up and keeps on running for ever! I uninstalled the software, restarted my computer, downloaded the newest version from cnet, reinstalled and it still locks up. It locks up when you start it to scan....some when in the scan...it just keeps on running.

I am running Vista with SP1,intel core 2cpu Q6600@2.4 ghz with 4gb ram.
